PRE XMAS PARTY RIDE : rev3

8:00 Sat, 10 Dec 2016

Meet at:

Download GPX

Distance: 77.25km

Duration: 4hr 0

The route is now attached.
To reiterate, the route involves some bridleway sections, all passable on a road bike (in my opinion), however i would advise bringing along an extra inner tube just in case!!
Please also note that i intend this ride to be a social event not a smash fest, and we can have a quick coffee stop in Long Whatton if people so desire.
Then following the ride there will be food and drinks available back at my house (on Woodland Grove) to celebrate the start of the Xmas season.

Thinking about joining you for part of it (i.e. missing out most of the off-road bits) and going to the cafe at Long Clawson with you.
If I got to the Festival at Trowell for 9am do you think that'd be about right or is that too late?

Darren - no problem... at least we can now use peppers in the food now ;-)
Jim7 - sounds ok to me however please note that I have been weather watching and am thinking that I will post up a potential alternative route depending on how bad the rain is tomorrow!!
The concept for this ride was born out of some exceptionally dry weather.... the heavy rain forecast, coupled with the general high humidity at the moment would make some of the sections perhaps slightly too exciting :-)

Ignore my doubts.... of course we will ride the planned route, what could possibly go wrong....

Mark - Not familiar with all the off route bits but it looks like going over trowell moor. Will normal road tyres work on this route? Presumably there's nothing more extreme than what Mike's thrown at us in the past.
